How are you?
This is a question we ask or are asked repeatedly throughout our day. But how often do we reply Im fine when this isnt always true? Sometimes its just easier to cover up our feelings or brush them off for fear of burdening others or appearing unable to cope. Understanding why you feel this way or think the way you do can be incredibly helpful in developing coping skills and processing emotions.
About me and my practice
How can counselling help you?
Counselling can help you make sense of things and understand yourself better. It wont give you answers but a counsellor can be the person who guides and empowers you to find solutions.
Investing in counselling can help you to address complicated feelings - or find ways to manage them. When we invest in ourselves we are dedicating time, effort, and resources towards our wellbeing, enabling us to be better equipped to then make a positive impact on others.
I can help with issues and challenges that you may face. Whether dealing with anxiety, depression, past traumas, current stressors, relationship issues, or simply seeking direction with personal growth, I provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to address and work through their mental health concerns.
I am professionally trained with a diploma in Integrative Counselling. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), meaning that I work within an ethical framework and adhere to best practices to make sure that every client is supported during their counselling sessions.
What you can expect from me
When I first sought therapy many years ago, I felt hugely overwhelmed with the long lists of counsellors, and bombarded with phrases and jargon which made no sense to me. All I wanted was a counsellor local to me, who was kind and would listen without judgement. Now I am a counsellor and have a better understanding of all of these terms and phrases, but I have never forgotten those key attributes I was looking for, and I try to uphold them in every client session.
